Dear Reader
For the longest time, I thought about how best to begin. Finding no perfect answer, I decided that a long project would be as good a place as any.
Hi.
My name is Enwerem Oluebube Deborah. My family calls me Ebube, and friends call me Debbi. While I’ve often looked into the mirror and called myself The Story Telah, I’m not particular about titles, so whichever moniker suits you is fine with me.
Before I introduce the ‘Dear Reader’ series, here are a few things you ought to know about me:
1. If we met now, I would tell you I’m 25 years old. Let me have it!
2. I’m studying Theater and Film at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The same city I live in.
3. I stay with my parents when school is not in session, and occasionally I get philosophical.
4. I love all things Christ, me, and A Good Story.

As a young writer, I realized I was growing into a lazy one. I had come to forget the very principles that made me fall in love with the art of storytelling. I’d simply become the writer who did not write. So, as I turned a milestone age in October, I thought it was time to put on my big girl pants and keep a resolution. After all, 25 is said to be nothing more than a field of anxiety and uncertainties towards craft and self. What better way to navigate these feelings while getting back to writing than by starting a blog? That said, welcome to The Story, Telah.
This is a personal blog where I write fiction, poetry, and lifestyle blogs that focus heavily on being young, female, and creative in Nigeria today.
Now to the ‘Dear Reader’ series,
This is a five-part short story collection, containing stories culled from events in my pubescent and YA years. With this series, I hope to get us better acquainted and comfortable with sharing.
